Heading North

Dear Diary

I needed some more provisions so I decided to venture out of town today. I have gone North as I seem to remember passing a chalet complex up that way sometime before the fall. And while its not quite as luxurious as I remembered it, there are still some chalets with their windows intact and the well seems to be clean and full.

I have bedded down here for the night but will keep exploring tomorrow.

I have pulled a dresser in front of the door, maybe I'll even get some sleep.

The magic of Morphine

Dear Diary

Two weeks I've been hiding.

Two weeks of sitting around skulking in the shadows and only heading out to try and grab some morsel to eat or catch rain water to calm my thirst.

But today that all changed.

I managed to limp a little further today and realised I had made it to the hospital. I scuffed round the discarded medical scrubs looking for something to rid me of the pain and lo and behold I found something I had gone beyond hope of finding.... MORPHINE!!

And for the first time in a long time I felt that all was not lost. The pain was much better and now what I needed to do was get some 'proper' food down me. The weather wasn't with me and I had to duck from building to building between showers but I stumbled upon a glorious stash of tins - tactical bacon, baked beans and some sweet, sweet peaches.

As I ate, I decided to look through my bags to see if I could cram any more tins in, but what I saw was testimony to my paranoia over bumping into any more hostiles... my bag was full of weapons with no ammo or ammo without the right sort of weapon. I decided to unload some of the nonsense and keep only what I could use. But I didn't want to leave it all together, what if someone found it who DID have the right gear... I'd potentially be arming my own hunters... I spent the rest of the evening hiding bits and bobs around the countryside North of Severograd. That'll show 'em!

Speaking of hostiles, I've not seen any of the infected for a while... I wonder if things are calming down?
